Tour Duration: 1 Day       6:30 a.m.-5:30 -6:00 p.m.

Itinerary: –

Khao Yai National Park is a popular birding destination in Thailand, offering year-round birding opportunities. The national park is home to 300 species, including migratory birds, during the winter from October to February. Interesting birds include the Siamese Fireback, Silver Pheasant, Coral-billed Ground Cuckoo, Blue Pitta, Eared Pitta, Banded Kingfisher, Long-tailed Broadbill, and the four hornbill species: the Great Hornbill, Brown Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, and Oriental-pied Hornbill. The hornbills’ mating season in Khao Yai National Park starts from the end of January to May. During the breeding season, the female hornbills will enter the tree hole, cover it with tree bark and mud mixed with excrement, and lock themselves in for months while they lay eggs and raise their babies. The males must forage various fruits, primarily figs, and other protein sources, including snakes, bird chicks, small birds, or even squirrels. They then feed their partners or young through the bird nest’s narrow vertical entrance; the feeding intervals increase as their young grow older. There are several hornbill nests along the road and trails in Khao Yai National Park, and if you’re lucky, you could spot them feeding their partners or young. The birding trips begin at 6:30 a.m. from your hotel, and we will explore the birds along the park roads and trails before having lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will go birding at the waterfall from the famous film “The Beach” and the highest mountain in Khao Yai National Park. We will head back to the hotel after birdwatching at Khao Yai National Park’s highest mountain and waterfall.

Itinerary: –

Khao Yai National Park is rich in flora and fauna, with 300 bird species and 71 species of mammals, making it ideal for wildlife photography. The national park is also home to fascinating birds and animals, including great hornbills, wreathed hornbills, silver pheasants, Siamese firebacks, trogons, clouded leopards, gaurs, marble cats, civets, white-handed gibbons, pileated gibbons, bears, and elephants. During the elephant breeding season, the males travel along the roads in search of the females, while female elephant herds bring their calves to visit salt licks to consume minerals, providing us with excellent photographic opportunities to take pictures of them.
